When you are not getting the sleep that you need, finding a solution to your sleeping problem can feel like an uphill struggle. You try many things, but nothing works in the long-run. You buy a few expensive gadgets, a wake-up lamp, new pyjamas, maybe even a new bed. The problem is, the longer that your sleeping problem persists, the more it settles in. Not only do you develop a habit of poor sleep but you may even develop an “insomnia identity”.

We understand that improving your sleep can be hard and that’s why so many people are struggling with sleep today. Firstly sleep is personal and complex, so it’s hard to know where you need to focus your energy. Secondly, actually making the changes to your lifestyle, mindset and sleep habits are very hard to do on your own without support. Many people put up with bad sleep for many years without seeking help as a result.

With your Sleep Coach you will look at how your mindset – thinking patterns, emotions and beliefs – might be preventing you from getting the sleep that you need, and build a more positive relationship with sleep.

To fall asleep and stay asleep, your body and mind need to be able to relax. We have seen that many people with insomnia have an overactive sympathetic nervous system. It is important to practice relaxation techniques to be able to access the most restorative sleep phases at night.

Dot Zacharias

Dot is an Integrative Adult Sleep Coach, teacher of iRest Yoga Nidra and creator of the Sleepability Sleep Coaching methodology. With her sleep coaching clients, she combines the practical aspects of sleep coaching with the transformational meditation practice of Yoga Nidra.

Having suffered from, and overcome, insomnia after the birth of her first child, Dot wanted to help others in the same situation. Dot believes that sleep is so vital for life that you should not give up on getting a good night’s sleep. She has helped individuals of all ages and situations to sleep better and has delivered sleep coaching and training in major companies (see our Companies page). Dot offers Sleep Coaching in English and French at Shanti Home, Rue Darwin 8, 1190 Brussels.

Sophia Yannoussis

Sophia is one of our Sleepability Sleep Coaches. Sophia has trained in psychology, life coaching and Reiki and is a member of the British Psychological Association. Sleep played an important role in her life, having suffered from insomnia at the age of 25. Since then she has been exploring what finding balance in life means to herself and others and shares her experience through her coaching.

Sophia has been trained by Dot Zacharias and Dr. Neil Stanley to help people who are motivated to sleep better get the guidance, support and tools that they need to do so. Sophia has a passion for travel and is currently available for sleep coaching in French via video conference.
